Everything Cell does throughout the Cell Saga, which includes eating 600,000 innocent people and killing hundreds of others in cold blood, is solely so he can attain ultimate power.That's why he seeks out immortality, so he can stay that way forever. Frieza only cares about staying in power as "the strongest being in the universe" and will wipe out entire races to do so.He seeks to soar to ever-greater heights. ![]() Getting his country.is just.another step on the way. Or frequently in fantasy and sci-fi stories, something larger. This trope is equally applicable to a villain who's out to take over something smaller. note Depending on the scale of the story, the villain need not be out to dominate "the world" specifically. Ideology and especially morality are secondary, which means examples of this trope are rarely portrayed in a sympathetic light. Power and position are what they are after and they are not particularly fussy about the state of the world insofar as those ambitions go. They will, if they deem it necessary, nearly destroy the world in pursuit of this goal. But with this trope, the Big Bad takes it too far. Total global domination is the most common of all villainous goals. It might turn out to be a Crapsack World - but hey, c'est la vie. Nope, you sacrificed your friends and family, your fellow countrymen (and theirs), and perhaps most of humanity in the name of social advancement. Now, the world might turn out to be a better place with you running the show, but just to be clear - that's not why you are trying to do it. Whether it is to eliminate the competition or to dissuade any future rebellion, you find that World Domination is hard to achieve without crossing the Moral Event Horizon, sometimes just because Evil Is Easy. Sometimes, it really was just to get you into power. Sometimes the catastrophe you engineered to bring yourself to power was not all for the Greater Good, nor was it For the Evulz. Send your humans on expeditions around a procedurally generated map and earn resources without any limits.And some villains just want to take over. In the second campaign besides resource management you get a totally new "raid" mechanic. A correct choice may provide some bonus, an incorrect one - well, you'll see! Many of the modifiers that you get due to the random events change the game's look significantly. Besides that, a random event happens after every five feedings in the form of a text quest. The foremost roguelike element is that you can't save the game - you have to start from scratch every time. You need to plan your strategy and tactics in advance and track all your humans so that they don't die of exhaustion. Puny humans are to produce energy for us (which is leaking constantly), they also have to reproduce and feed themselves. They rest in one of the facilities and work in all the others. It only takes a couple minutes to figure out the game’s mechanics, but using them optimally is no small feat!Ĭore gameplay consists of transporting puny humans between various facilities using mechanical claws.
